Ay'Anna Moody
Ay'Anna Moody is currently the Senior Director of Social Impact for the Golden State Warriors. In her first year, she launched Generation Thrive, the Golden State Warriors' new game-changing, a first-of-its-kind non-profit accelerator that supports Bay Area academic-focused non-profits' effectiveness schools through education and wellness support. To date, Generation Thrive has served over 2500+ educators with free and teachers' professional development opportunities so that they have the tools, resources, and support to thrive in every aspect of their work.
Before joining the Warriors, Ay'Anna was the Director of College Access for the Oakland Promise and the Coordinator of College Access for the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). Under her leadership, OUSD's College and Career Readiness Specialist and college access partners helped dramatically grow the FAFSA/Dream Act Application completion in OUSD to 85% and increase the high school graduation rate to 70% (the highest graduation rate in decades). She also secured a $1M grant from JP Morgan & Chase to implement financial capability work in Oakland schools. Her hard work, strategic thinking, ability to relationship build and engage, commitment to equity, and overall drive made an incredible impact at both the Oakland Promise and OUSD.
Ay'Anna earned her B.A. in African American Studies and Political Science from UCLA and holds an M.A. in Education Policy and Social Analysis from Columbia University. She is the 3rd Vice President of the Oakland NAACP and Political Action Chair, President of Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) Oakland/Berkeley Chapter, and a Regional Board Member for BUILD.org.
